PC Computers Vs Mac Computers

My friend Claudia has been getting to know the Mac computers at work. She finds it confusing for her in getting used to the Mac. She has found it to be a little backwards from the PC. As she goes along she says it's getting a little better and easier to use. I know for myself it was confusing at first to use a Mac. Getting used to the tools that were on the computer and the formatting to do assignments for my technology class is getting better. The one thing I like about the Mac computer though is that you won't get any Virus'. Where as a PC your susceptible to virus'. Have you heard the new slogan for MAC's now. Once you go MAC you never go back.

Advancing in Technology

I remember back in the day when I was in school and the my Technology teacher who was Kevin Girouard at the time introduced us to computers. Commador 64 computers to be exact. We were able do assignments and play games on these computers. Not everyone had a computer in our community. We only knew of a couple of families in our community that had a computer. Man.. have times really changed from back then. In those days, I thought that we were some lucky to be able to use computers in our school. Now in today's society every school has computers in their classrooms or a computer lab. It's nice to see how we have grown with the times and to be so advanced with the Technology.

Multi Media Club

Kelvin Simonson and his Mutli Media Club are doing wonderful work here in Eel Ground School. They have found innovative ways to use technology. They have been working on different projects thoughout this time and have successfully found different ways to use technology in short film productions, I have found this group of teenagers to be very dedicated in thier work environment. Kelivin has a great group of students working on this club. Good work guys!

Drama Award

Eel Ground School Drama club have used Drama to get a positive message of "Hope". They have recently been nominated for the Kiasier Foundation Award of Excellence in aboriginal programming. I am proud to say that they have won this award for the "Simon Bishop Story". With thier efforts to help others on teenage stress and suicide this was thier way to give awareness on how important it is to help individuals that may be facing strees in thier lives, or may be thinking of suicide. They wanted to give a powerful message of "Hope" that there is help out there within your communities wether it's talking to parents, a councillor or and elder in your community. As a parent in this community, I am so proud of these students. These students have used a powerful tool through DRAMA to get ther message out to the communities across Canada, and help those who have been affecting by teen strees and suicide. My daughter and I will be travelling to Calgary in a couple of weeks to accept this award on behalf of the Eel Ground school Drama club, I couldn't be more proud of my daughter Felicia.

Blogging between Students an Teachers

I think that all students should be able to do their homework or reports on the computer. Not only for school but to able to be in contact with the teacher through blogging. Students are always wanting to get in touch with thier teachers about homework. So I think that if they have a system in place on how thier able get in contact with thier teachers on any concerns that they might have, will help them understand what the teacher wants from the students regarding homework assignments.
